If you know me, you know there are days when I look fab and days when I literally look like a mess, and not even a hot one, yet I still leave the house because life doesn’t slow down for you to apply makeup...lol. So let’s talk beauty regimen.
I strive for a pretty natural look when I do use makeup and love products that are gentle on my skin. My skin is generally pretty clear but I do get the occasional blemish so I’m always careful that I’m not using any harsh products that will make my skin sad. I’ve been very lucky from the time I was a pubescent teenager to now...my skin is average AF. It’s not oily, it’s not super dry and my skin tone is pretty even throughout. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy for me to find the best beauty products out there when there is a sea of products to choose from.
When I’m not struggling to find a new foundation or mascara, I’m obsessing over the fact that I have no quality lipstick, balm or gloss. I have really small lips and I’m a compulsive chapstick user so that doesn’t leave room for matte lipstick or shiny glosses unfortunately.
Recently I was introduced to Beautycounter by my virtual friend and fellow blogger, Ogechi. She shared with me some of her favorite products and we’re doing a GIVEAWAY because you need Beautycounter products in your life. And what’s a better way to try something new than to be gifted that something new? How about the Transforming Duo? The perfect pairing for the naturally beautiful out. Since I’m rather self conscious about my lips because they are so tiny, I was super excited to try some of the many lip products that my Beautycounter has to offer. I’m used to chap-stick and chap-stick only, like I mentioned before, so I didn’t want to stray too far or go wild when choosing the perfect lip product for myself. What I came across was the Better Balm Duo. One untinted and one sheer tinted balm in berry came in the lavish Beautycounter box. Sitting here in my untinted balm, my lips are so hydrated. Both the tinted and untinted balms hydrate more effectively than a quality chap-stick would and I’m kind of amazed. My lips are shiny and fuller without looking like I’ve applied layer upon layer of lipstick or gloss.
One of my favorite things about the Better Balm Duo is the luxurious balm tubes they are in. Have you seen this beautiful royal blue tube? I feel so fancy when I’m applying my balm even though the cost of this set is low compared to others like it. This balm set is a must, I’m literally obsessed. So long chap-stick...you’re no longer needed here.
Beautycounter is on my A-List because they refuse to work with any products that are tested on animals and their mission is to promote and educate on clean beauty. Remember when I mentioned that I prefer to only use gentle products when it comes to my makeup? I have found the perfect products with Beautycounter! Beautycounter works side by side with their consultants like Ogechi, giving women and men who are passionate about clean beauty a chance to share these amazing products with their family, friends and following.
Assuming you’re ready to move on from a heavy, overpriced beauty regimen, you can shop here! Pick up even just one or two products and I’m certain you will not be disappointed. Happy shopping!
