The Birthday Girl is Turning 5!

Hey gals!

SO this past weekend was Chloe’s birthday and we were so busy...but it was so worth it because she loved every minute of her birthday weekend.

So back in November, Chlo suddenly decided she wanted to have a bowling birthday party. Where that idea came from, I have absolutely no clue. Chloe has never been bowling and the last time she was at the bowling alley she was about 2 years old, so again ---- no clue. Lol

But anyway, all 14 kids in her class decided to come after only 4 kids showing up last year (almost her whole class was sick last year so her party was pretty small). So her classroom friends plus our family friends was about 20 kids, plus all of the parents and about a mob scene.

Surprisingly we only had one of the party guests get their fingers pinched between bowling balls - WOHOO! I call that a win... when you have 20 kids under 5 bowling on four separate lanes and parents having too much fun catching up with each other. Side note, if you’re thinking of doing a bowling party, I’ll be honest it wasn’t cheap by any means but it was totally worth it because she loved being the center of attention and having all eyes on her!

At the end of the bowling portion we had Little Dreamer Princess Parties costumed characters, “The Snow Sisters” (aka Anna and Elsa) show up and surprise Chloe. She was so starstruck...they are her absolute favorite of course. I highly recommend entertainment for your pre-k age child’s party. We only had the Snow Sister’s at the party for 15 minutes and it was such a hit. Even the boys liked it and were excited to see the princesses. If you need help finding costumed characters near you, send me an email and I’d love to help you find local character companies.

Anyway, after the party, mounds of Frozen gifts and cake we found ourselves at Buca Di Beppo for a yummy meal and some wine to decompress. Much needed!!! If you’re stumped on what to get for your kid’s friends birthday party coming up, here’s a list of some of Chloe’s favorite gifts.

1. LEGO Disney Frozen II Enchanted Treehouse SHOP HERE

2. Crayola Frozen 2 Glitter Effects Color Wonder SHOP HERE

3. Frozen 2 Sing Along Boombox with Microphone SHOP HERE

These are all pretty perfect for gift giving so check them out for the next party you’re invited to! Can you tell, were currently Frozen 2 obsessed? Between Christmas and her birthday, I’m almost certain we own the entire Disney's Frozen line.

We also realized that Chlo could make the world’s most affordable Build-A-Bear, just $5 for the birthday bear. So she brought $20 from her birthday money and planned to make a bear under that budget…. YEAH RIGHT! Try triple that and our dignity. Just kidding. But for real, we visit Build-A-Bear so often, at least 8 times a year and Chloe never stays on budget. She goes wild in that store, just like every kid, right?

Chlo just happened to be born on my brother’s 16 birthday so they share a special day. It’s really a funny story. If you’ve ever watched 16 Candles with Molly Ringwald where everyone forgets about her 16th birthday…. That was Joe 5 years ago. He turned 16 and everyone disappeared because my sister went into labor. Nonetheless, Joe and Chlo get to celebrate together each year and it’s just the sweetest thing because Chloe loves that she shares a birthday with her uncle. It makes it extra special. Are there any double birthdays in your family? I bet there’s pretty common apparently.

Overall Chloe (and Joe) had a pretty exciting weekend and I was pretty exhausted by the time it was over. Were already talking about next year’s soiree so let me know if you have any ideas that will blow her socks off! I’m hoping for a more laid back venue next year, lol. Please.
